		<title><![CDATA[Error message: "BOF or EOF is true or the current record has been deleted"]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p><span class="postbody">This message can occur if you have entered test data on your Palm OS based handheld before you have synchronized it with your desktop software.  The solution to fix this error is to delete the handheld application and re-install the handheld application, which will erase any team, player, and game data on the handheld.</span></p><p><span class="postbody">To delete and re-install the handheld application, following this procedure:</span></p><ul><li><span class="postbody">On your handheld, tap the Home icon so that you are seeing the program icons on the handheld</span></li><li><span class="postbody">If it does not say "All" in the upper right corner of the screen, tap the popup menu in the upper right corner of the screen and select All</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Find and tap on the HotSync icon on your handheld, it will appear as a red and blue circle</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Make a note of your handheld's user name, which is shown on the upper right corner of the HotSync application screen</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Tap the Home icon to return to the program icons screen on the handheld</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Tap on the clock in the upper left corner of the screen, and a menu called "App" should appear</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Select Delete from the menu</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Find the entry in the list for your product, tap to highlight it, and tap the Delete button at the bottom of the screen</span></li><li><span class="postbody">A Delete Confirmation dialog will appear, tap Yes to confirm</span></li><li><span class="postbody">In your desktop software, select the Tools menu, select Utilities, select Palm OS Utilities, and select Install handheld application</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Depending on the version of Palm Desktop you are using, you may see an Palm Install Tool or Quick Install window, make sure that the handheld user name selected matches the name of your Palm handheld you noted earlier</span></li><li><span class="postbody">Confirm and close any Palm Install Tool or Quick Install windows that appear on your computer</span></li><li><span class="postbody">HotSync to transfer the handheld application to your Palm</span></li><li><span class="postbody">With the desktop software open, HotSync again</span></li></ul><p><span class="postbody">At this point, if you do not get the error on your desktop software again, check your handheld to see if the teams from your desktop have transferred to the handheld.</span></p><p><span class="postbody"><hr /></span></p><p><span class="postbody">This section of the message applies to the following products: <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic"><span style="COLOR: green">Scoutware Baseball and Scoutware Softball</span>.</span> <br /><br />This error message results when the user attempts to launch another program during a synchronization with Digital Scout or if the synchronization is interrupted. If this occurs, the synchronization will fail and the user will not be able to access the Digital Scout program. Please follow the steps outlined below. <br /><br />Delete specific files from the Digital Scout directory. </span></p><ul>- Close Digital Scout on the desktop computer. <br />- On your desktop computer, double click on the My Computer icon. <br />- Double click on Local Disk ("C:"), which is the hard drive. <br />- Double click on Program Files. <br />- Double click on Digital Scout. (Click on Show Files if you cannot view any files.) <br />- Double click on the appropriate sport folder (baseball, basketball, etc.). <br />- Delete <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">ALL</span> files with the file name containing <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">"palmquery"</span> or <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">"0000000000"</span> (a long string of zeros). (To delete a file, click on the file once so it is highlighted and tap Delete on the computer keyboard.) <br />- Verify all applications are <span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">CLOSED</span> on the desktop computer. <br />- Perform a successful HotSync. <br />- Open Digital Scout on the desktop computer. Select teams and perform a HotSync to transfer the teams to the handheld computer.</ul>]]></description>

		<title><![CDATA[The connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again.]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[
<p>This error message is not related to a Digital Scout product.</p><p>An error message appears on your Palm OS handheld when attempting to HotSync:</p><p>'The connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again.'</p><p>This problem may be caused by a faulty connection between your Palm handheld and desktop computer. </p><p>To troubleshoot this error, do the following: </p><ul><li>Make sure the cradle/cable is securely connected to the computer. </li><li>Check to see if the handheld is securely set on the cradle. </li><li>Verify that HotSync Manager is loaded and active. The HotSync icon should be present in Windows System Tray (located by the clock in the lower right corner of the desktop computer screen).</li></ul><p>Also, you should check to make sure that your HotSync Manager has the correct connection method enabled.  The way to do this is to right click on the HotSync icon in the lower right corner of your computer screen (the icon has two circular red and blue arrows), and looking at the top part of the menu that appears when you right click on this icon.</p><ul><li>If you are using a USB cable to connect your handheld to your computer, right click on the HotSync icon and make sure that "Local USB" is the only item in the top part of the menu that is checked.  If Local USB is not checked, select it from the menu, and then right click on the HotSync icon again to verify that Local USB is selected.  If any other option such as Local, Modem, or Network are checked, select that option to uncheck it.</li><li>If you are using a serial cable to connect your handheld to your computer,
right click on the HotSync icon and make sure that "Local" is the
only item in the top part of the menu that is checked.  If Local is
not checked, select it from the menu, and then right click on the
HotSync icon again to verify that Local is selected.  If any other
option such as Local USB, Modem, or Network are checked, select that option

		<title><![CDATA[How do I export my game data to upload to the MaxPreps web site?]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p><span class="postbody">Some versions of Digital Scout's Statware products offer an exporting feature that allows Statware game data to be uploaded to the MaxPreps web site. To use Statware with MaxPreps, the MaxPreps Export preference must be selected. </span></p><ul><li><span class="postbody"><span class="postbody">On the desktop Statware home screen, click Tools (upper left).</span></span></li><li><span class="postbody">Go to Preferences and click General Preferences. </span></li><li><span class="postbody"><span class="postbody">Select MaxPreps Export (a check mark will appear) and click Done. <b>Please note that this MaxPreps export option does not appear in all Statware products and versions.</b></span></span></li></ul><p><span class="postbody"><br />If you are using a desktop computer to collect statistics, continue to the next paragraph. If you are using a handheld computer to collect statistics, perform a synchronization to transfer game data to the desktop computer. </span></p><ul><li><span class="postbody">On the desktop Statware home screen, click Game List. </span></li><li><span class="postbody">Click to select Season and Team from the drop-down list. </span></li><li><span class="postbody">Click a game so that it is highlighted. </span></li><li><span class="postbody">Click Export Game. Read the message and click OK. A window will open to display the location of the exported game in a folder named MaxPreps. The default location of the exported game is C:Program Files/Digital Scout/Statware Baseball/MaxPreps.</span></li><li><span class="postbody"><span class="postbody">You will need to repeat this process for each game you want to upload to the MaxPreps website. After you have finished exporting the game, you will need to go to the MaxPreps website and upload each game. </span></span></li></ul><p><span class="postbody"><br /><span style="FONT-STYLE: italic">Note:</span> For detailed instructions please reference your manual.</span></p><p />]]></description>

		<title><![CDATA[Run-time error '-2147217887 (80040e21)' during Connect to Pocket PC]]></title>
		<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Problem:</strong></p><p>When using Statware Baseball v7.0 or Statware Softball v7.0, you receive the following error message when you are trying to synchronize the information from your Pocket PC to your desktop or laptop computer:</p><p /><hr />Run-time error '-2147217887 (80040e21)' <p /><p>Multiple-step OLE DB operation generated errors.  Check each OLE DB status value, if available.  No work was done.</p><p><img height="201" alt="80040e21.jpg" hspace="0" src="/techsupport/images/80040e21.jpg" width="371" align="baseline" border="0" /></p><hr /><p /><p><strong>Solution:</strong></p><p>Uninstall and reinstall using the newest version of Statware Baseball/Softball v7.0.</p><p>You can download the latest installers for these products in the following locations:</p><p><a href="/downloads/baseball7/setup.exe">http://www.digitalscout.com/downloads/baseball7/setup.exe</a> (Statware Baseball v7.0)</p><p><a href="/downloads/softball7/setup.exe">http://www.digitalscout.com/downloads/softball7/setup.exe</a> (Statware Softball v7.0)</p><p>These installers will require a unique serial number if you are installing them on a new computer.  If you uninstall and reinstall the software on the same computer, your serial number will remain on that computer and you will not have to have another serial number.</p><p />]]></description>
