Digital Scout Becomes Official Partner of Ripken Youth Baseball Academy
ABERDEEN, MD (June 18, 2004)

Ripken Baseball and Digital Scout have entered into a partnership that
designates Digital Scout as the Official Statistical Software of the Ripken
Youth Baseball Academy for the 2004 season.
Digital Scout markets Team Statware, a statistics software program that
provides instant stats and analysis at the game and printed box score,
scorecard and other reports immediately after the game. The software also
updates a web page with the latest statistics. Game statistics are entered on
either a handheld computer or a laptop at the game, or on a PC from a
traditional scorecard after the game. Reports are printed and exported from a
PC.
The Ripken Youth Baseball Academy, located adjacent to Ripken Stadium in
Aberdeen, MD, has four youth replica baseball fields and a regulation-size
synthetic turf training infield, along with batting cages, a picnic area and a
multi-purpose field. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall the Academy will
play host to 8 tournaments and over 300 teams. Ripken Baseball will be using
the new 3.0 version of Team Statware for the 2004 Tournament Series, which
offers an automated scorebook for team stats and a tournament stat manager.
Digital Scout software enables Ripken Baseball tournament officials to keep
score and collect performance information at each game on the handheld palm
pilot. Digital Scout Statware automatically calculates team and individual
player statistics and synchronizes with computers to create numerous reports.
Those reports, including box scores and individual player statistics, are
available to participants through the Ripken Baseball website. Team Statware,
designed to track statistics of all players and the team is primarily used by
coaches, statisticians, and tournament and league directors. Parents will have
the opportunity to purchase the new Player Statware which creates a record of
each child’s progress with complete statistics reports and collectible trading
cards.

software will not only enhance our programming, but bring another dimension to
what we can offer players, parents and coaches that visit our Academy.
Additionally, we are able to reach out to friends and families of tournament
participants in remote locations, not able to attend.”
